SM Caen @ FC Metz (2:30pm EST)

#1 vs #4 in the France Ligue 2 standings.

    SM Caen Away Form: 3-3-2 / GS: 13 / GA: 9

    FC Metz Home Form: 7-2-0 / GS: 14 / GA: 4

    Last 8 Meetings:

    01.03.2008 D1 Ligue 1 FC Metz SM Caen 2-1
    22.09.2007 D1 Ligue 1 SM Caen FC Metz 1-2
    19.02.2007 D2 Ligue 2 FC Metz SM Caen 2-0
    07.09.2006 D2 Ligue 2 SM Caen FC Metz 0-0
    09.04.2005 D1 Ligue 1 SM Caen FC Metz 0-1
    13.11.2004 D1 Ligue 1 FC Metz SM Caen 1-2
    03.05.2003 D2 Ligue 2 SM Caen FC Metz 1-0
    29.11.2002 D2 Ligue 2 FC Metz SM Caen 4-0

Let me just say one thing first, this match reeks of a draw, especially seeing the lowered draw odds of +195.

But we clearly have a huge advantage with FC Metz home form and goal difference, as well as the h2h record between the two.

At this time, I am seeing +100 for FC Metz -0.5. Surely you can find better at other books.

I would also guess that o2 (-120) would be a good option for this game, unless Metz plays outstanding D.

FC Metz has only lost one game at home to Caen and that was back in 2004.

Let's hear your thoughts/opinions and hopefully we got some locals from France to weigh in on this too.

Had this one marked for an over today. Think a push is the worst case scenario at 2. Think this match is going to get some heavier than usual action. Price on the over has already jumped from -109 to -115 at BetPhoenix since last night.

Nice to hear. I'm gonna go check some more chit on the web to find out line-ups and whatnot. Thanks EP!

Metz has scored multiple goals at home in 4 of their last 5 & Caen road matches have hit 2 or better in 7 of 8. That is enough to think this gets to at least 2 for me.

After reading up on some more info, I'm going with FC Metz HW @ 2.0.

The over/under is truly a coin flip in this case, weather conditions are bad, and Caen miss two offensive midfielders.

I give a rested Metz more chance to win this game vs. unrested Caen who played last friday to a 1-1 draw.

    Caen:
Hilario, Perquis, Leca, Heurtaux, Sorbonne, Inez, Seube, Proment I.N 'Diaye, Eluchans, Langil, Nivet, Van La Parra, Deroin, Yatabaré, El Arabi.

    Metz:
    Keepers: Marichez, Sissoko
Defenders: C. Gueye Mutsch Biancalani, Borbiconi, Vivian, Brégerie
    Midfielders: Bessat, Cardy, Rocchi, Frechaut
Attackers: Mendy, Cisse, N'Diaye, Omotoyossi, Bourgeois
    Suspended: Pied
    Injured: Johansen (thigh)

Watch out for Omotoyossi, he has not played much due to injuries, but might start today!

Those are some very good stats for the over my friend, I think it hits and like you said, at worst a push!

Though I am predicting and believe the final score will be FC Metz 2-0. Gonna need help from Caen.

When you "lay" Caen, that means you are playing on them to NOT win, correct?

Therefore, if the game ends in a tie, or Metz win, you win your bet?

Forwards Traore, Livio ve Toudic and defenders Tafforeau and Barzola are out for Caen in this game, Metz has owned Caen at home over the years, Metz have value considering the situation but the game may not even get played, the snow may fall and its something like -10 out there.

If so, play Under and Home Win. If the draw line raises to 215-230 , then draw.
If lower than +195 Away Win.

yes if metz or draw i win, i still considered the under it is going to be a freezing game, metz have score a lot of goals at home but caen cant score so it is a plus for the under

Metz HW @ 2.0 for me. If they draw, oh well, but I doubt that will happen today.

Looks like EP was right on the o/u, over 2 has jumped to -130 from -120 at my book.

The Goal/No Goal line is the same ...so the books really don't see a bunch of goals imho.

Yeah, blunts, we were all just waiting for what you had to say. Thanks...

Never seen someone be that proud of being ignorant and having an "addiction"

You fail hard, my friend. Congratulations!

Going with Metz -1/2. Have played well at home against Caen. Extra rest helps on a cold day and possibly wet field.

The over/under line has dropped to 1.5/2 at certain Asian books...just FYI. Again, under is getting hammered...

and u cant admit that soccer isnt boring to watch. get rid of offsides, and make the goals twice as big, and then maybe it'd be a solid sport to watch. but at this point i'd take watching golf over soccer any day.

soccer is the only sport in the world where games with ABSOLUTELY NO SCORING happen on a daily basis. nil-nil draw? fukin kill me please and give me my 90 minutes back.

that being said i am still betting it. because i love action.

    took fc metz

    I see your point.

Though you really have to know and love the game to be able to watch those 90 mins of nothing, there is still something beautiful about it.

But thats probably just my heart talkin...been playing soccer since I began to walk.

If it wasn't for some of the negative things that have happend in my lifetime, I would be playing for the MLS right now.
