I am hoping on the 15th when the features are out and announced that it isn't a dud. I might have to sell (hopefully if the stock runs up to $680 again) before the 15th on hype and anticipation alone.

9/12/2012 is when it will be announced.
9/21/2012 is when it will be on sale

This is already verified by ATT and Verizon blacking out holiday and vacation days for the week following 9/21/2012

Verizon has already been reported to have a vacation blackout for the week of September 21st and now it looks like AT&T has the same policy in place, something which seems to point to the iPhone 5 release date as being September 21st.
According to TechCrunch, AT&T employees have been given the same vacation blackout dates that were given to Verizon employees. The dates range from September 21st to September 31st.
AT&T has denied that this is the case but we wouldn’t expect AT&T to confirm something like this.
It also looks like AT&T employees are receiving training for an unnamed “iconic device” which seems to hint at the iPhone 5, a device that was previously rumored for a September 12th launch and a September 21st release date.

No. Shares drop after announcement then when it goes on sale and and sale numbers are projected it jumps up.

i think 700 is a very high resistance price for this stock. i think you should sale before the announcement and then rebuy a couple weeks before they announce earnings for the quarter following the iphone 5 release. i see this stock getting to about 750 there after and only climbing. This stock has a very predictable growth patern and i dont see anything stopping it.

iphone competition is going to be fierce with both LG and Sony recently announcing top-end models that will blow away the iphone in terms of specs. talking monster quad-core processors, 2GB RAM, IPS+ HD displays, 13 MP cameras..

i dont get why people keep saying shit like this. Everyone knows that other products are better. Apple products consumers have always known this. Apple has always been a overrated product. But you know what, Apple has a very strong consumer base and they buy the products anyways. It will continue to happen. The last 3 I phones have all sold more and more every year and everyone of them was a inferior product. Apple is "cool" that's what it has going for it. The company is a marketing genius and that's what counts.

how aggressive of a investor are you? I believe any longterm Apple hold is going to generate you more money than the current price even in the next 6 months. However i feel the stock price will get to 675-690 before the announcement, slightly drop after all the hype when the iPhone dosent have specs that are superior to its competitors. Then following the sales numbers of the quarter following i think the stock price will jump and sail over 700. So depending on what type of investor you are just holding will generate you some extra capitol but selling right before the announcement and then re-purchasing a few weeks after the stock price falls will get you about 5% more. The latter comes with risk, im no professional so I can only speculate about how high i think it will get before the announcement and how low it will fall post announcement before it gains steam and goes over 700. If your a conservative investor i would just hold, the stock will go up.

i wouldn't take this advice too seriously, its just 1 man's opinion. But i can almost guarantee you wont loose money holding it for the next 6 months.

I have been holding since October of 2011 bought 120 shares at around $427. So its almost a year and I have been riding this out. Don't know how much longer to hold.....will be happy if I sell it all off at $690.

Perhaps put it all into Starbucks and hold for a year.

Damn Apple Stock dipped from $683 to $661 today....what the hell happened?

I was poised to sell this baby when it got above $680 but didn't wake up till 12 noon today and by then it was already down below $680.

Closed down like $17.50 today.

What is going on?
