The French Quarter is one of the most beautiful and culturally interesting areas in all of North america and in the the new world, it was built before the levee systems and all of the "urban reform" programs and is above sea level. It was amazing how few of the old buildings were untouched and not damaged by Katrina, it shows you how people knew about these storms and the flooding of the Mississippi when the city was bult and Louisiana was developed, Katrina was a case study for the inferiority of modern development.

So much of Katrina had to do with the failures of levees and just horrible local and federal response to Katrina , the Obama administration and the New orleans police department will shoot the first person that even considers or gives the first thought to looting. This hurricane or its aftermath is not going to ruin the Democrat convention. The Saints and LSU are getting ready for football season, Hurricane Isaac needs to take heed.
