yes. i went to court and the cop didn't show up so the charges were dropped.

They will get you for that as well as court fees on top of the fine.

Definately go to the court date. My buddies a cop and he says 80% of the time the cop doesnt show, and the other 20% the judge will cut you a break.

I just recently fought a ticket. I dragged it on for 90 mins. Then I told the judge I needed another full day to question the cop and I was going to call a bunch of witnesses. He cut the fine in half.

btw, cops get double time for going to court, so they usually show up, unless they are on vacation or have just worked a shift.

Check and make sure all the info on your ticket is correct. I got a ticket and the cop wrote the wrong DL # down, saved me around a hundred$

the charge isn't the offense, it is the court costs.

Going to court just keeps it off your driving record possibly.

If you live in a big city like LA or NYC, a Metropolitan 1 million plus population, chances are you have 60% cop might not show. If your living in a city with 500k or less population, the cop will show up for court because that is how the City makes money. I just recently got a speeding ticket case when I was even speeding. The rigged cop clocked a different vehicle but was too lazy to chase his @ss. Lost that case in court.
