Need Some Help (Intelligent People Only)
Hello everyone. It's Seaweed. I received great news but it comes with a a bit of a problem, or should i say dilemma. I was offered a big job as a deliverer for the Mercury newspaper here. I have never really had a job before but this could be the real deal to kick start my financial career. The job is simple as all i do is make sure everyone in my grandma's neighborhood gets their newspaper. The only problem is i am also required to work on Sunday morning. As we all know, Sunday morning is my prime time for NFL final breakdowns. I am a handicapper before all else, and i don't want to sacrifice my sunday morning for Seaweed Nation. At the same time, i really could use the money to invest into my plays to get a greater profit. I ran a trial today and timed myself to see how fast i could knock off the neighborhood without any newspaper. Unfortunately, i got some complaints by some people because they didn't understand what i was training for so i missed the last 14-17 houses. My time was officially recorded with my stopwatch and it took 1h 27m 37s (without the last 14 -17 houses). Should i take the job? I'm not sure if it's worth losing over an hour of study time. And second, anyone have any tips on how i could improve my time?

Do more NFL work earlier in the week, try to start work earlier if possible, get faster, get a different job.

    Didn't you retire?

I never said those words. I Simply said i would retire. And as you see, i have retired since then from posting any plays. However, as many other greats in history such as Favre, Jordan, and the other guy, i have decided to come out of retirement because it would be a tragedy to stop sharing my insights when i have just begun to reach my peak.

I don't know who this Sean Combs person you are referring to is, but like the Giant once told me in the spring of 2009 - "Every journey starts with a single step". I never had a real job before and the money i make could really help me by investing more into my handicapping to gain a greater financial profit and a more sustainable life as a aspiring professional sports handicapper.

A newspaper distributor is nothing to insult. It's a very a good job that requires skill in mapping out the surrounding territory to ensure maximum gain.

I had two newspaper routes in 8th grade. I would deliver to over 200 houses on Sunday mornings on a 10 speed bike with only pedal brakes. I would leave around 6 am and would be home around 7:30 am. I was allowed to throw papers on driveway...not sure if you can still. Also, you might be delayed if you have to bundle wrap promotional stuff. Or, you do as I did, and take all of the promotional stuff and sell on the side. You would be surprised at how many poor kids will trade for decent shampoo and conditioner samples. I only mention the bike and time expectencies because I assume you are too poor to drive.

I use to trade homemade apple-leaf cigarettes in exchange for labor from poor kids, who would steal cigs from their parents. I bought more worthless baseball and basketball cards with my dough than anyone I know and single-handedly kept Woody's Sports Cards in business.

I would try to subcontract the job to some young kids on bikes to do your dirty work. Younger they are the cheaper they work for. If they are young enough you could pay them in candy.

I already looked into that, but according to child labor laws, they must be +13 years. From my window I frequently see this brown kid who lives across the street and a couple houses over that appears to be 10 years of age. But I'm not sure if i should approach him to do labor for the obvious reason, plus he's only 10.

We have never had a losing season in history. Everybody loses games, but profiting in the end is what separates the winners from the losers. I guess you are a young follower, but you will learn in time. I have been around the business for decades learning from the Legends and taking notes.

It is a question that involves intelligence, logic, intuitiveness, math, IQ, etc, etc. There is a satisfactory answer to your puzzler, but you may have been better off posting this in the 'think-tank' or something, because too many people are taking your puzzle literally, and many posters (as happens quite often here) are attacking you the poster rather than trying to solve your twizzler. Ask Justin 7 or Ganchrow or Thremp or Baus or others who will understand your post for what it is. Buona Fortuna!

IDK, it smelled a bit like troll when first coming in, but couldn't really tell, so just answered. I pretty much listed all reasonable options in the first post and it's still going on, so maybe you're right. But I'm not gonna spend time on a puzzle if it could end up not being a puzzle at all, lol.
