    this was an awesome read, and made my work day fly by thanks for posting...i live in boston and i never even really paid much attention to the win fall game, but its crazy to see how people completely took advantage of it

      I knew about it years ago. I don't have the exact numbers in front of me but something like you need a minimum of 120K to get a 45/55% chance. You need to bet like 600K and own/power a betting machine to GUARANTEE a win. Problem is trying to convince someone (with 600K spare change) that it's possible to beat the lottery. Chances are you'll end up in a white jacket before you get the $$. In short you have to bet the BIG $$ to get it. Too many people got in on the idea that the MIT syndicate started betting 100's of K to force the jackpot and close the other syndicates out who were waiting for the rollover. The article has the exact # but they had like 683 of the 920 tickets that cashed for over $600 or the like.
