Does Anyone Here Consider Themselves A "Sovereign Citizen"?
Or maybe know someone that is. I am a manager of a collection agency, and had a borrower call in today stating that he no longer owes on his student loan because he is a sovereign citizen. Had heard the term before, but was not familiar with the way of life. Seems like these guys are the type that want to have their cake and eat it too.

This one guy took out over $20,000 in student loan debt, but feels he does not owe it now because he is not a federalized citizen. I checked wikipedia on this belief system, and they seem pretty out there. When I saw Terri Nichols considered himself one, it verified my initial thought. Is there anyone out there that has a different view of this lifestyle?

Fukking quakks... Just keep hounding the guy. He ain't paying shit. Take his federalist ass to court and have them garnish his wages and then he'll see how sovereign he really is.

yes i too am not a US citizen-slave

rather, I am a FREE MAN ON THE LAND, a SOVEREIGN CITIZEN OF MINE OWN AGENCY

my personal sovereignty is bestowed upon me BY MY CREATOR

the demands and definitions and delineations attempted to be imposed upon me by various arbitrary and illegitimately-conceived so-called federal institutions do not pertain to me as they are based on a false premise, and I neither validate nor am I beholden to their illegitimate syllogisms

I am carpedime, a FREE MAN ON THE LAND!

The guy did not consider himself a sovereign citizen when he borrowed the money from the government but when it is time to pay it back he is?

op what collection agency do you work for? you might be a bigger scum than the guy claiming to be a sovereign citizen...

another note, just like the housing bubble, when is the student loan bubble gonna burst? all these college kids borrowing exorbitant amount of money and they won't be able to find jobs, resulting in mass defaults. it's gonna get ugly...

Avg amount of student loans for college grads who took out loans for college is a whopping....$24k. Less than 5% have over 100k and they are skewing that number upwards. [Source: NYT]

Unemployment rate for college grads is still under 4%.

do you know how unemployment rates are determined? even if you are unemployed unless you receive unemployment checks, you are not included as being unemployed.
