Mayor Bloomberg Says Cops Should Go On Strike Until Americans Give Up Their Guns

New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg told CNN's Piers Morgan last night that he doesn't "understand why police officers across this country don’t stand up collectively and say we’re going to go on strike, we’re not going to protect you unless you, the public, through your legislature, do what’s required to keep us safe."
We've been hearing a lot of that recently. Earlier this year, The New York Timesreprinted a Department of Justice press release and slapped this lede on top of it: “As violent crime has decreased across the country, a disturbing trend has emerged: Rising numbers of police officers are being killed.”

Since when did the police protect anyone in the 1st place, Bloomberg can talk big when he has his own armed security that goes with him everywhere.

You know there is one way and only one way Id give up my weapons, and that would be that all politicians are not allowed to have any security at all, from the President on down to my local city council idiots who are armed at our city meetings. Ive owned guns since getting out of the military in the 70's, and at this point in my life they dont mean as much as they used to, but Ill be damned if Im going to ever give them up unless the whole world is on a level playing field, and we know thats never going to happen.
