    Are TV warranties worth it?
Maybe my family just has bad luck but my mom bought a toshiba tv and after 2 years the TV needed repair and it costed about 40% of what the tv costed new so she just bought a new one. Christmas last year i bought a 46 inch sony google internet tv. Just today the tv seems to turn itself off by itself after a few minutes. After researching the issue could cost $100-250 to repair. I paid $600 for the tv not even a year ago. Target sold 3 year extended warranties for i think $75 bucks. When i was growing up my family had TV's for 10+ years without problems. Are tv's these days crap?

NY i agree on toshibas i would never buy that trash. I understand Samsung is the Apple of Tv's but it costs about 1.5 what a comparable Sony did. I hope this isnt a big problem but the tv i have did get a lot of negative feedback because of this problem. really dont want to spend what the tv is probably worth now to get it repaired. Im trying to find the old paperwork. Maybe it came with a 1 year warranty but im pretty sure it didn't. Probably only the 90 day warranty that target offers in their return policy.

look into vizio's for best value for good quality sets. when you purchase them from a costco or sam's club in your area, they come with 2 year extended warranties directly from costco or sam's, or 3 years if you buy with an AMEX.

square trade is the best place to get extended warranties beyond that time. gl

Not worth it. Only covers if the tv just breaks. 99% of the time they'll say you caused it and say your warranty is void.

Yea after researching my TV came with a 1 year warranty from sony. Unfortunately i cant find the F'N receipt and this is probably the only purchase over $100 ive made in my life for cash. If i put it on the card target could print me another receipt.

Definitely not worth it, unless expensive TV with cheap warranty. Think of the percentage of times that that TV will break within the warranty frame. If it was a money loser they wouldn't sell it.

buying with your CC extends it a year. If your CC is worth a shit. And i got a Toshiba regza 55 inch and has been good to me for the past 3 years, going on 4.
