To be honest when I first watched a few episodes I wasn't that impressed, I thought it was like a poor man's Lord of The Rings. There are so many characters that are pretty well developed though, a lot of characters that are in between good and evil, and the hot chicks are fun to watch too. You get hooked.

I also have also really gotten hooked on "VEEP" with Julia Louis Dreyfuss that comes on afterward...JK

The Lord of Rings expectation has to be dropped outright in order to watch it. One is action and "epicness" through battles with mostly one-dimensional characters. The other is largely presumed epicness with little action, instead lots of dialogue and complex ambiguous characters and subplots that develop slowly.

The season finale was sort of a letdown but can't wait for next season. Guess I'll pickup with True Blood for now as a season to keep my interest.
