    Favorite Beer and/or Whiskey?
I've currently been in search for a new drink on both fronts.

My favorite beers were always Belgium in origin, loved a great Whit...

However, I came across Guiness black lager, and there has not been a more satisfying beer for me.

Also, I am trying to get the fortitude to "sip" my whiskey.

Obvious standby when I am out is Jameson. Although my current liquor cabinet is loaded with Glen's. All of them, multiple bottles.

So, I was just seeing what the degenerate beer/whiskey drink of choice is.

Don't give me this Jack Daniels piss shit and the likes.

From common beers it's Mythos. There are of course some less known beers that are hard to find but are really good.

I've got to say Jack Daniels

breckenridge brewery's small batch 471 IPA coming in at 9.2% is my current fav beer...

When it comes to whiskey I prefer Jameson on the rocks

Since you are fan of Belgium beers, try this. I haven't met anyone that didn't like it. Plus is has a good size alcohol content ... for a beer.

Eagle Rare Single Barrel 10 yr. This is great bourbon at a great, affordable price. I have more expensive bourbons in my collection, keep coming back to this one though.

You are going to have to be more specific than "glens"

Degenerate drink of choice is a single malt scotch. Aged just like JJ's boys - at least 12 years. At the moment I'm working through a 12 year old highland park, which is horrible and a 12 year old aberlour, which is excellent.

If you don't like it straight, add one iceblock to it. That can help.

                            Real men dring Carlton Draught.

Best tasting beer is any top quality european beer, though I prefer mid-strength for having a good time. Getting drunk is bllsht, with mid-strength you can get to a good happy mood and stay there.

Best tasting commercial australian beer however, hands down:

Carlton mid for a good time.

Fiddich, Morangie, Livet. Those along with Jameson can't be beat, IMO.

Anyone every purchase any of those "whiskey stones" or maybe they're called just stones? Apparently you freeze these rocks, which will act like an icecube in the drink, without watering it down.

Some really good opinions here. Gonna probably bookmaker this, and work my way through.

I have tried Delirium, and I am a fan. For some reason though, I always forget to look for it when I go to the store.

It really depends on how old you want to go...they offer numerous ages from 12, 15, to even 25 but that is awfully pricey obviously. I think the 12 the last time I got it at my local was between $37-$41 or so, don't quote me on that but I am pretty sure that's right. It can get pretty pricey, but a great family friend of mine drinks strictly Glenlivet and nothing else, so I always have to have one around....guy swears by the stuff. I think it's good for what it is, I'm just not much a whisky guy myself.

I've always heard good things about most of the Speyside "Whiskeys" though....perhaps there is a cheaper option out there from same region....

18 yr old bottle of glenfiddich is about $100 here in costa rica, so I'm going to guess it's $50-60 in the states.

infamousbacardi: a 12 year old glenlivet or glenfiddith is about as cheap as you'll get for a reasonable speyside or single malt. If you want to go cheaper and something that is only aged for the minimum 3 years or so, you get what you pay for.

Chalkydog: You can definitely get better than those if you are talking about their bottom level scotches (the 12 year olds for livet/fiddich and 10 year old morgangie). They are what most of us normally drink though - affordable enough to drink every day. If you want something really nice and like those scotches, I suggest trying some Islay scotches - Lagavulin is my favourite or Laphroig for a more affordable option.

I have whisky stones and they don't make much difference to me. If you like your scotch cold, then they are for you. I don't really care though. I just like it neat.
