People who dispute the existance of God or a higher being are just as dumb as those who believe in it. The only truth is that none of us have a fckin clue. Science doesn't explain everything, neither does the bible. All we can do is enjoy the time we have here and take responsiblity for our own actions. Waiting for some higher being to tell us what to do or how to live, or berating those who choose that path is just a waste of time. People will always believe in stupid shit, and there will be wars regardless if it's over religion or money or something else. So what if religion is used to control people... so is the media and pop culture. At least religion attempts to teach good social morals. People will always seek out stupid shit to believe in because it makes them feel unique while still feeling apart of a team without ever having to think for themselves. It's human nature. All you have to do is look at high school to get a good microcosm of the world. A bunch of stupid cliques who categorize themselves one way or another and then look down upon other cliques who don't think like them. There's no definite proof Jesus existed.

There is definite proof that 100 yrs or so later people started telling stories of a man named Jesus and people began to follow common sense teachings that were attributed to him, these people grew in number to the point that powerful people began to take notice and used these people to create the wealthiest and most powerful cult the Earth has ever seen.


Having said all that, a man who preached love and walked it and talked it probably really existed. Was his name some form of the name Jesus? Maybe, maybe not. Did he defy the laws of physics and nature by performing miracles and doing "crazy shit"? Of course not.


It reminds me of a show I saw, Decades ago they dug up some graves and found a man who was well over 7 ft tall, probably had glandular problems or gigantism or some shit....The same region they found the grave in is the same region that produced the tall tale of a man who was so tall he could chop down a tree with one swing of the ax and was named Paul Bunyon.

Was there a man who was taller and stronger than all the rest? Probably. Named Paul? Maybe, maybe not. Could he chop a tree in one swing? Of course not.

I think most religious folks are hedging their bets that there just might be something after this life. Seems to me that athiests have WAY MORE faith to say there is DEFINITELY nothing more. Who knows, maybe they're right... but then again, it just might be possible that the atheist is wrong and by the time they discover their mistake it could be too late. I choose to believe because I love the concept of grace. But to each his own and I never fault anyone for being skeptical and searching for their own truth.
