Home AC requires a licensed tech to charge with freon unlike your car which you can do yourself.

It could have a freon leak and if so call a heating and cooling contractor to come over and see what's goin on. Freon is pretty expensive tho per pound, but if they put the lil gauge on ur unit and theres not much pressure then you need more freon.
