It isn't a tall tale man. It just simply isn't. We had a stock market game for TAG and I got interested in it. That is where pretty much all of my disposable money has come from. It was purely luck, there is no skill in picking a random IPO.

Why are we just now hearing this story after you've been cornered over and over again about betting your own money vs. your parents'?

That is what bitter people do man. You don't want to be in that category.

When people say they bet a lot, people doubt them. If they prove they do, they go after something else, IE, 'where did the money come from?'

My mom is very very protective. If I meet them and the family out for lunch after church, she will force me to take a $20 bill and say 'go get yourself food.' But to suggest they give me the money necessary to bet 3K, 4K, 5K on bets is just ridiculous. They'd never do anything like that.

I've mentioned that stock on this forum before. Can't guarantee it was on this name, but can guarantee I've mentioned that lucky stock bought before. Will bet my life in fact.

I believe it is. I was given a certain amount during the internet boom and the percentage gain I got from it is unbelievable. Bought a stock on its IPO and it was splitting like every 6 months for a couple of years, just absurd growth. Got out right at the peak and my relatively small investment was enough to put away.

Had I not picked the stock myself, I'd say it was all my parents' doing, but I was in TAG in 5th grade and picked the stock just out of chance.

In my TAG (talented and gifted) program in 6th grade, we played a stock market game which got me interested in it.

My mom's friend who had access to the corporate account for Goody's allowed me to give her a couple thousand dollars which I got from my parents on birthdays and christmases and stuff into this stock that had just started, INFOSPACE, ticket symbol INSP. I put all of the money into that stock and it kept doubling. It doubled like every day it seemed. I turned a couple thousand into 20 grand, had no idea what I was doing, just got lucky.

The reality is, I never would have posted my bet amounts on this board if crustydouche didn't come into every thread I ever started and say I was betting air or 50 cents. It is just a joke.
