Graduated with a finance degree, but fell in love with risk management.
Tough to say pal, you almost have to know someone to get into a good situation. Once established, it's a great field to be in. Just keep your current customer base happy and keep them renewing those policies.
Not going to lie, the first year are tough. I think the first yr I only pulled about $18.5k out of college back in '03. Luckily I knew how to live poor as I didn't have much in college. Now 10 yrs later, I think it's the best field to be in. Everyone needs it.
Stick to personal lines home & auto. It's the easiest to understand and sell imo. If you are looking at being an agent selling, contact a few independant agencies in you rarea and see if they are looking to add any agents. It will mostly be all comission so most times they are ears. If sales are not for you, maybe a CSR for a larger insurance comapny might be your best way in.
