i just saw raekwon live

i love old **-tang. love it love it love it. here's why this show sucked.

he started off with like 5 or 6 old classics. i was digging it. started with his verse in cream, then did some solo shit, then threw in his verse to it's yours off **-tang forever, etc. it was awesome, the vibe in the crowd was killer.

then he started with some newer shit, which wasn't really anyone's cup of tea, then threw in **-tang clan ain't nothin to fukk with to get the crowd back. ok, cool. we knew this was coming.

then he started doing new shit with some guy named j.d. era or some shit like that. this guy j.d. era was really good, if that's even his name. but the actual material left a lot to be desired. because the beats weren't that good, they were probably off of some raekwon album no one had, and people started losing interest.

then he did an ole dirty bastard song. one of the first few songs off of return to the 36 chambers, i can't remember exactly which song it was. all i know is it was sacrilege. what the fukk was he doing? he was doing odb's parts as if they were his own. i just didn't get that.

then he did a couple of new songs with this j.d. era guy, and this guy was killing it, and there was also some r and b crooner asshole who's on raekwon's label who took a stab at keeping the crowd interested. he failed. there were very few ladies in the house, yet he kept calling out to them, and the ones that were there were there to fukk rap dudes. sorry r and b guy. not tonight. we weren't there to see these guys anyway, so who gives a fukk what they did.

so then rae goes into incarcerated scarfaces, one verse of it, and everyone's back on board. then he closes with inspectah deck's verse to triumph. WHAT THE FUKK!!! why would any self respecting rapper do someone else's verse to a song where they did a verse too? boggles the mind.

man the show was cool for a little while but overall it sucked.

best thing was memphis' own royal t opened up and he killed it. everyone should check his shit out.

Raekwon can't hold down a wholke show for himself. If he had ghost with him, would have been a better show. They had their time in the sun. Park Hill/Stapleton is right up the block from me. Raekwon should stay there.

but in that vein, ttrace, i was expecting him to have someone else with him i knew, either as hypeman or someone to do some shit like that j.d. era guy did. i was thinking maybe street life, though he's in meth's pocket, hell, my real wish was cappadonna would ******* be there! if cappadonna came out and was like "ok, rae's not performing tonight, but i'm gonna do the pillage in its entirety" then i would have been happy i spent the 20 bucks to get in. i don't regret going, but still in my mind i'm thinking "that was maybe worth 15 dollars" haha...

I FORGOT TO ADD that he also did u-god's verse to da mystery of chessboxin at the end of his initial "classic" beginning to the show. you know, the one from 36 chambers where he starts out RAAAAAWWW IMMA GIVE IT TO YA/WIT NO TRIVIA/LIKE COCAINE STRAIGHT FROM BOLIVIA or something like that. this was the first time he did someone else's verse and didn't apologize for it at all, and i didn't know i was in for a night of this kinda shit. and this guy next to me was going nuts, rapping along, and i said to him, "hey man!! this isn't his verse!! this is kinda shitty, that he's doing this, huh?" this guy had been rapping along to everything, so i know he knew what i meant when i told him this. and he goes "WHO FUKKING CARES, IT'S AWESOME!!" then when raekwon went into his new shitty stuff we both happened to go to the bar, where this guy bought me a shot of jack. for no reason at all! people are so goddamn weird when they start drinking.

but ttrace, this is why rae does this shit. because there are enough retards out there who will just pay 20 bucks to look at a dude and pretend it's the whole **-tang clan up there. because as you said, he can't pull off a show by himself, which he should be able to do, but sadly cannot.
