I was in 5th grade.

Those riots were crazy tho.

My mom whooped my ass the second la riot day, i was playing hide and seek in the afternoon and came back late, she thought i was out there stealing.

I was in my in 2nd year at Illinois but was back for a week to visit. My friends and I from SB went to Oxnard to visit some friends in Colonia/Oxnard..... Will never forget the shit jumping off on TV, then I heard shots in Colonia, some crazy times, will soon be repeating itself..

I'll never forget August, 1965....
I was visiting my great-aunt, an
aging doctor, living in Watts.
The neighborhood was blazing day and night.
The shopkeeper next door was shot and
stumbled to his death
in our backyard. It was a surreal experience to
live through. Thinking back on it...It seems
so far away.

I was at Hollywood Park Racetrack In Inglewood.It was Opening day for some reason i knew they were going to be found not guilty so i took a transistor radio with me just in case the verdicts came in and they did were found not guilty just had a feeling there would be riots so left.The new freeway was not built yet so i had to drive back to San Dimas went the long way around instead of going up Manchester to 110 went to lax and around.Got home went to sleep because i was working nights back then when i got to work found out what was happining.My buddy called me at work i remember and told me what had happened to Reginald Denny.Still to this day have not seen the tape.

I was attending USC.........and didn't leave campus for days. Crazy shit.

Got off the train from Del Mar at Union Station in L.A., and my ride home told me there's
shooting at City Hall, just a couple blocks away. A memorable day indeed.
