I went to see this movie on Friday afternoon to see what all the hype is about. I haven't read the books and have no desire to after seeing the movie. I'm sure the books are much better. I give the movie 3 stars out of 5.

This is 1984, Lord of the Flies, and several other classic books merged into a watered and dumbed down book for teens. Wife bought the book series; I thumbed through the first book; I expect authors and the families of deceased authors to file lawsuits within the next year. Horrible writing!

I manage a theater, from what I've seen I would have walked out after 20 minutes max. You nailed it, it's all of those books merged into one. I'd go ahead and add The Most Dangerous Game and The Running Man (80's Arnie movie) to that list as well. Utter crap.

Random thought hit me today...the Hunger games copied the short story, "The Lottery." The Lottery takes place in a village, where every resident has to show up on a specific date at the town square and be present while a name to be sacrificed is drawn--or a piece of paper with a dot on it. Very shady! Story was written around WWII. good, short read..can't remember who wrote it.

Not surprised it raked in that much. Was way overhyped. I hadn't read the books either but the story was predictable.

I think its catered more to a younger audience. Much like harry potter was but that grew to an adult audience too. This one probably won't.

'Running Man' for teen girls is the first thing I thought when I saw the previews.

I don't support Hollywood but I support the actors.

                Last movie I seen in a theater? Spider-Man 3

                Wow! It's been 5 years.

The more a movie is hyped and advertised, the worse it is.

I didn't see either of them, but I'm sure this and the Carter movie are quite awful.
