There hasn't been an intelligent, credible Leader in the black community in 40 years. Look at who is held up to represent- Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Maxine Waters and seemingly every person who takes leadership in the NAACP leaves under some sort of scandal. These people aren't trying to forward their followers, they are getting rich off of them. The bad part is that their message is the only one that is being heard by the majority. "We're disadvantaged, disenfranchised, victims of bigotry, victims of the government conspiracy"....that's the message that sells, not a message of education, advancement, and the rewards of being accountable for your actions... Kudos. Being black in America, althogh at times, can be very challenging because of a few racism here and there, has improved 50-fold if not more over the past 50 years. There is still a little bit of hatred towards people of my skin color, just because but the opportunities that are available trumps any racism or hatred that THE FEW can throw at us. The so called "leaders" that we have are corrupted and is just like any other white blonde hair devil of a politician who hates blacks. The media is propagates this and give these so called "BLACK LEADERS" air time which adds to the seeming demise of strong leaders in the African American communities. Lets be honest; CNN, MSNBC, FOX will not have a real MOTHAFUCKA on their networks because it's not in their interest for people to know the truth. We see this all across the board though, not just with blacks, but they also corrupt the mind of the whiteman. For instance, to push the idea that the reason so many blacks are incarcerated is because they have done some serious crimes when really and truly, some are there because of marijuana charges that eventually turned into them not getting a job somewhere and it's like a cascading effect. I agree with a lot of what you're saying... but I also think that a lot of the black community, when a black person steps up and calls like it is, calls that person out. Perfect example is Bill Cosby. He was speaking out on the downfall of the black community and what was needed to advance their lifestyle and received extremely negative comments from the black community.

I don't understand why that'd be. He has a vested interest in improving the life style for the upcoming black community, but is villified. Makes no sense. I guess because Jackson's message is easier than Bill's message.
