Not really one for dreams foretelling the future or dream interpretation but I had a dream last night that kind of shook me.
I can't really describe it properly because there is no context in which to put it into. It played out, and seemed, to be more like a movie. Like I was watching a film.
I was in a store in Center City Philadelphia. I saw myself buying some kind of an item from the store, from what I could tell it was a cd.
The counter person hands me my receipt and I walk out of the store.
As I am walking down the street, I hear this big noise coming from behind me. It reminded me of a Lion's roar.
As I kept walking, it kept getting bigger and louder. Finally, wondering what the noise was I turned around to see what it was.
At this point, it is impossible for me to accurately describe the horror I truly felt.
I looked behind me and set against the backdrop of Center City Philly, there was this wall of water rushing towards me and the city.
When I say wall, I mean it looked like a solid wall of water and was much higher and taller than any of the buildings in town.
I saw people running and heard them screaming frantically.
As the water was approaching, the noise it generated became huge. Overwhelming.
As I watched it come rushing towards me, I had an overwhelming sense of hopelessness. I literally lost all hope.
I just stood there, while everyone around me was moving frantically, and as it came towards me I looked up as this massive wave of water, thousands of feet tall, was about to descend upon me..........I woke up.
This dream shook me for two real reasons. First, it didn't seem like a dream at all but more like a movie and in this movie the feeling that I lost all hope seemed real.
Secondly, and this part really bothers me, is that the last time I had a dream like this which seemed more like a movie and not a dream, I saw a plane fly into a building and 7 months later, 9/11 happened.
I really don't know what to make of this. Should I be concerned? Sitting here, writing this right now, I'm still feeling the effects of this dream.
Strange stuff.
