I think when a made guy is sucking everybody in town if its not jumping the shark, it is certainly losing its strength and if happened for real tony would have him buried, thats a sign of weakness as far as a boss thinks and he would be gone. But when I saw that plus episodes were not as good I felt the show lost interest I.M.O.Lord thanks for those clips. when he killed the dog that was classic, thanks

The "Vito is gay and runs away to Vermont for awhile" story line sucked.

Also, it always bothered me that Tony became a degenerate gambler for awhile, so bad that he had to borrow money from the jew and then thought about killing the jew instead of paying him back. It was like watching the same actor play a totally different role.

EXACTLY, he had all that history with the Jew, and he was thinking of killing him , they claim they had actual wise guys helping them with story lines. one of the writers went to Brown university while she lived in Providence she got creative, and thats how all this Soprano thing got created. Pauley is said to be a connected guy ? Yes Vito running around with gay guys that were also firemen lol thanks dutch for your input.

Vodka's right, never jumped the shark, although i can certainly understand why some may think so.
It was actually the story lines that some above were critical of that were indicitive of why David Chase is regarded having done what no one has ever been able to do, capture and articulate the 'other side' of the mob. Telling the stories of the families and people around the 'glamour' with a reality that made that show one if the most popular AND most critically acclaimed series in the history of television.

I thought they overplayed Tony's anxiety attacks and later his dreams. As the series went on I think the writers felt like they had to get too creative, stepping outside the bounds of reality. Fact is people would have enjoyed more seasons of people getting whacked, fights, and regular old drama.

Lou, yes they were making the attacks more important than what people wanted to see, and while you would be watching you would wonder if it was going to just be another dream sequence. and his mother wow ..

Sopranos is indeed one of the best series on tv. This is why I laugh when people compare Breaking Bad to the great Sopranos.

This scene was towards the end of which season again? Maybe season 4? This scene is hilarious.

Breaking Bad is a very good television show. However, I agree the Sopranos was the best show I can remember.

Dmaggio, that really hits home, pauly called him weak, when I was coming up on the street, thats what the bosses felt, the law would get you to a point where you would give your mother up or that fix. Then it was great when the jumped him . For those not around that life , it rings loud in clear thats how some Italian families acted..
