Another dumb liberal idea. Occupy Wall St liberals want a $20/hr minimum wage. Gov could pass a law like this. what would happen is all the jobs where employees are less than $20/hr profitable to company would be laid off. Also, companies that NEED cheap labor in order to function (retail, etc) would close down. Even the high end skilled workers that are worth more than $20 would be laid off bc business would shut down bc it cannot operate without cheap labor (clerks, register operators, shelf stockers, etc). You can have $8/hr minimum wage with 6% unemployment, or a $20/hr minimum wage with 35% unemployment. You can make a $20/hr minimum wage. but it wont help economy. It will wreck the economy. Raising minimum wage will not help the poor because they will just be unemployed. better to make $320 a week than $0 a week.

What liberals really want (they're too stupid to know what they want) is GROWTH. They want income mobility. and they want the poor to be able to raise their standard of living. The only way to do this is to acquire skills via training or education.

So, to help the poor make more money... imposing a price floor on the wage is stupid and would crash the economy.

Lending is necessary for the economy bc businesses can get capital up front and employ people, etc. lending stimulates investment. Banks will not lend if they are not going to be paid back.
