The reason i say this is because if it was a big deal.i can't see you having any interest in a CBB TOTAL,i would think getting this court thing resolved would be the only thing on your mind today.

I have very lofty academic goals of reforming the criminal justice system in Canada. There are so many things wrong with it at every level from policing to corrections that it will be a lifelong challenge to truly change the way people perceive and act to crime.

BUT...

The first thing that needs to go is drug prohibition. Canada's correctional facilities are filled with non-violent, non-crime offenders. Yes, non-crime! Drug use is a victimless crime; smoking weed is no different than smoking tobacco or drinking alcohol or using any other drug for that matter. You should always be held accountable for what you do while on drugs because your actions are always your responsibility, but you can't prosecute drugs for what people do. If they choose, people will find a way to use drugs whether it's illegal or not. There is always another dealer or friend who can hook you up. ALWAYS. And on the other side of the spectrum, people who don't use drugs aren't abstaining simply because it is illegal, they have chosen that although it is readily available, it is not something they wish to do. They have been educated to know that drugs can cause a lot of harm if not properly treated with care.

If you make drugs legal tomorrow, society will not rush for them and turn into some chaotic addicted mess. It will continue, as normal. The users will use and the non-users won't. This way, the government stops spending your resources going after something that isn't hurting anyone.

Besides, if you legalize drugs: crime rates will go down, prison populations will decline, products will be safer, and the massive tax revenues can be used to educate our society, ultimately giving the individual the choice.
