Disagree. I've been able to reconnect with most of my old childhood buddies and coworkers on Facebook, something which would otherwise be next to impossible. Before they ruined the people search I also had an attractive woman seek me out that I dated for a while.

Hate the direction that FB is going now, but I still keep going back for the sports pools, contests, and news updates.

Got on Facebook about 8 years ago in college. Don't really check it much, but I can assure u one thing. It is a good tool. If u meet a girl and she wants to Facebook friend u= she wants to fuk u. And probably blow u as well. This is why I check my Facebook approx every 2 weeks. But I agree Facebook is wack, and I get a kick out of middle age people like my parents and their friends on it. Facebook is not the end all be all to communication/social network phenomenon, just an additional option. But it is a useful tool for keeping in touch with the young people who have no idea what a landline phone, stamp or envelop is. No one needs to be on it all the time and check for every update, but an occassional check of it would not make anyone gay. What makes you gay is doing the do with someone of the same sex, not anything that occurs on facebook.

I tell people in my church theyre all going to be divorced and cheating on their wives if they keep doing facebook. Pisses them off. But for most people facebook is like the forums, so they get addicted to it like guys get addicted to the forums. My wife started a page for me though and I was pissed. I only found out because I got an email that said I had facebook shit. I didnt think too much about it then got another one and my wife said she started it for me. She logged in and I had about 20 messages from a bunch of losers I went to high school with, and a bunch of stuff for the 25th reunion.

I didnt talk to those douchebags 25 years ago in person why would I start now? I shut that shit down and gave my wife hell about it. She told me I needed to be more social and stop being a hermit. LMAO I told her thats why I got married so I wouldnt have to talk to anyone.

What really pissed me off was when her parents and sisters got on her facebook page wondering why she hadnt been around on it for awhile. And that they were worried about her. I grabbed her cell and told them to look at th number on it and DIAL that and TALK to the person that answered. DONT TEXT, DONT TWEET, CALL and TALK. Then I hung up on all of them. That went over great. Her mother was pissed.

Facebook is just another excuse for people not to interact. Even though it is sold as a way to keep in touch. All it does is make people less interested in actual interaction. It is also for myopic self absorbed douchebags that think other self absorbed douchebags give a flying fukk what thyere doing that day.

This was the most interesting aspect of FB for me. Not necessarily connecting with but going through the friend of a friend of a friend and seeing who you recognize from the old days. Most I didn't have a desire to talk to but seeing what they look like now, any personal info they have public (occupation, marital status, etc..) was interesting.

The way I look at it, people on your FB should be people you know in real life and talk to at least somewhat regularly. And if you are talking to these people, pick up the phone.
