    State of Florida blows
My wife goes to the daycare and finds out that a baby there is in foster care and being shipped to Ohio. Babies parents were on the run and were caught. The baby was born in Ohio and that's why he is being sent to a foster home up there.

That's not what sucks. This baby has only a onesie in his possession. The state will not provide any clothing for this baby. My wife freaked out. She works for a judge, the judge took my wife to the store this morning and spent $100 of her own money to clothe this baby and get other things like blankets and items like that. Then my wife called a friend who owns a baby consigment shop and they are giving even more clothes to this 7 month old baby. They even gave him a car seat.

State of Florida can kiss my ass, this baby is an innocent little baby and the state couldn't even provide clothing??

Rick Scott and the other greedy politicians can kiss my ass and I am married to an angel for what she has done today for this baby.

The foster mom down here wants to adopt the baby but with him being sent back to Ohio it might be difficult.

Keep this baby in your prayers that maybe the foster mom who wants him can get him. At least he will be going up north in style with so many donated items that things have to be shipped to where he is going. There are good people in this world.

There's people that suck in every state. Last night, wife's unit admitted a baby whose parents were both meth heads. Baby's brain has holes in it. Worse off, there's nothing anyone can do. Stuff like this happens everyday at her hospital.

Sounds like you married a great lady though. Hats off to you and your family for showing some love.

My wife might be an angel, but I am a son of a bitch and hope people that do this to innocent babies rot in hell.

        That does suck Living.

It would make for a nice "special interest" piece in the local newspaper though. This does a couple of things.

        1) It would draw attention to something that appears to be an injustice and get the ball rolling to make a change or at least a special circumstances amendment to the current practice.

        2) It would draw attention and likely an influx of donations from others like you wife and the judge.

Posting it here helps with getting it off your chest but reporting it where it will get the most attention and potentially do the most good is a better idea.

P.S. Where are you in Florida? I'm in Gainesville.

Seriously?? State will send inmates for mri's for rotator cuff pain but can't buy this baby proper clothing??

I am not gonna get started anymore than I am at this point already.

Our state is to busy giving the babies parents money to buy drugs or go to one of the many casinos. This state is ass backward I agree. We have some of the most crime ridden cities. We have the highest addiction rates to prescription pills, we have one of the worst housing markets and the highest insurance fraud in the country but we have good weather I guess. Hopefully karma catches up with these parents. Tell your wife great job we need more people like that here

Thanks and I don't mean to act like the state should "take care of us", but I have personally taken a life sentenced inmate on a 4 hour round trip with another officer in the van and another officer on Chase because he was a high risk inmate to a doctor for a WART!!! I didn't know what the medical trip was for until I got there... Thats on top of numerous MRIs and other doctor trips. This state is out of control and when I see it affect an innocent baby, my pissed off button got pushed

No state, no government can save everybody. It's the good samaritan like your wife that have to be compassionate enough to care and do something. Most of us are caring from a distance, but most of us won't do anything, it's the people who actually do something that matter.

So while the baby is on his way to Ohio the state of Florida will just let him chill in a room with a shitty diaper, nothing more?

Some state agency has to take care of the kid until he leaves. You are saying there isn't a bed/crib they put them in? If it dips in the temp the state of Florida will let said baby get sick in his flimsy piss wet onsie without a blanket?

If the state isn't responsible for this baby, some adult is. If an adult wasn't, the state would be. You could get a blanket, a few onesies and a few outfits for $25. WHy did anyone need to ask the state?

When I say responsible, not the people who were on the run and caught. The people that have him in the interim. Who is it? If they can't get these basic things, they shouldn't have taken the kid in until he goes.
