Members of the notorious ’90s rap group **-Tang Clan were involved with gunrunning, drug dealing, gangs, money laundering and even murder, according to federal documents ordered unsealed yesterday.
The shocking details were outlined in a 94-page FBI file on the group’s late co-founder, Ol’ Dirty Bastard, obtained by blogger Rich Jones and posted on the Internet.
Among the findings is that authorities blamed the December 1997 murder of Robert “Pooh” Johnson, of Staten Island, on an unidentified group member.
“Johnson was an associate of the WTC who had a falling out with the group, and it is believed that his murder was ordered by someone within the WTC,” one FBI report said.
The documents also link WTC to drug dealing, carjackings and shootings affiliated with the Bloods street gang.
Moreover, the files say there were allegations that group members laundered money through their record label to fund their shady dealings.
The revered, troubled and often outlandish ODB, whose real name was Russell Jones, died of a drug overdose in 2004.
