As usual when talking about these sorts of things people really dont have a clue. Jews are simply Iraelites from the tribe of Judah, they are just descendants of one of 12 tribes of the 'chosen people'. There are also some remnants or were some remnants of a few members of the other tribes (that were exiled) that got adopted into the tribe of Judah.

The term Jew has been morphed into all sorts of incorrect things over time. But a clear cut definition of a Jew is a descendant of that tribe.

But according to a 'real world' definition a Jew is a descendant of that tribe, whether they follow the religion or not, so basically that is a biological Jew. Second are those with an ancestor who had a Jewish(biological) mother these people are considered Jews. Third are those people of other religions and nationalities that convert to Judaism. So they are religious Jews without any biological or ancestral connection.

So it wouldnt be out of the realm of possibility that some people who wouldnt consider themselves Jews might very well be according to some of the criteria .
