Saw the new Sherlock Holmes flick yesterday

Critics have been mixed, but I think it was better than the first one. Lot of good action scenes - well worth seeing on the big screen.

Anyone else see this or plan to?

I've seen it. Very solid movie. I liked it better than the 1st one, which is strange for me and sequels.

Isn't it basically the modern Hollywood template of action movies with "Sherlock Holmes" superimposed into it?

I enjoyed the first one more but "A Game of shadows" was decent also. Killing off his Holmes' love interest in the beginning was a shocker.
