You're already thinking negatively about the place before you even get there...not the best idea for me. There will be "good" and "bad" people in any country at any given time, so deliberating which country is safe or not will not be very helpful. If I were you, I'd think about what positive difference you can make when you arrive at that place. Will you get there and leave it a much better place or worse? Good luck on your trip though.
