Now this is about the dumbest thing I've heard, but it's mostly because we don't know how they got from point A to point C and the article doesn't explain how either. But I believe it went something like this......
Their logic/morals is dumb to us, but perfectly reasonable to them. The way they see it; if they let women drive, then women will begin to want other "rights." It won't stop there. If women driving is morally wrong, then what other morals will we compromise on? (speaking from Saudi perspective) Next they will want bathing suits at the beaches and not wear their hair dress in public. And it won't stop there. They will want to go on dates with out a chaperone. And if there's no chaperone, what's stopping them from having sex on these dates? Don't you want your wife to be virgin when you marry? (again, speaking from Saudi perspective) How many untouched virgin women will there be, if we allow them to go on dates with no chaperone? If we compromise our morals and let them drive, we will continue to compromise and there will be no end to it. [/End Saudi perspective]
