"Have picked up two strong, separate rumors, one on the West Coast and the other on the East Coast that Bill Cowher could be the next coach of the San Diego Chargers. It has everything he wants: A team with talent, a quality quarterback and an owner who will allow him to bring in his own management people. A bonus: His eldest daughter, now married, lives in Los Angeles. Of course, San Diego GM A.J. Smith will have to go and someone Cowher knows would take over that job. Cowher loved quarterback Philip Rivers before the 2004 draft and there the Steelers might have drafted him instead of Ben Roethlisberer if he were not picked before them."

Dude LOOOOVE and respect your old school mentality but you gotta admit that while if you can walk you can play-- if you can walk and RUN and CUT you can play much much beer.. i just don't understand how anyone can say you're better off with an injured LT than a healthy Turner AND Sproles and that logic was never better illustrated than in that very game by RIVERS who could walk on his ACL but little else and DID play and HURT THE TEAM BY NOT LETTING VOLEK FILL IN.. that game was not lost because of poor running plays but because of the ineffective passing of Rivers ..

The Chargers time has passed! They blew their chance in 2006 when my Colts got the ring. They had Brady picked off late to win & advance to the AFC Championship (at home) but the dumba$$ ran around and got the ball stripped from him...giving Brady time to end their season. I disagree that they still have a bunch of talent. LT is old/gone, Sproles is gone, Gates is hobbled up and getting old, and their defense is mediocre at best. Rivers is still capable of being a top QB but they're pretty much in rebuild mode just like my Colts.

I agree 110% my friend but as a Charger fan cannot get over how little we did with our window and how much you did with yours.. watching ESPN as i type this and chuckling as someone said the MVP should go to MANNING THIS YEAR more than ever which is so funny because it is arguably true. I mean, wow, after watching what happened to your boys with out him this season, could anyone make a stronger argument how valuable he is to your team?

I couldn't agree more.. it;'s always him and gruden and now the popular one to say is Fischer... while i agree Fischer may come out sooner because of how (and how recently) he left, i think Cowher and Gruden like being around football without being around any of th headaches as an analyst.. don't see either coming back

He had them in the mix every year. Thats all you can ask. Where would Parcells be without Scott Norwood missing the field goal vs the Giants. The Pats won 3 SBs by a field goal apiece as well. Ditka turned a 3-4 SB dynasty type of talent team into a 1 SB winner. If Vanderjagt makes an easy fg then Cowher doesn't have any rings but he's still a good coach. Fisher is 100x better than Ditka who has a ring and my dog can think quicker on his feet than Barry Switzer and he has one too.
