Think I'm gonna take the advice of a couple posters who said check out Bally's. It's more expensive but in prime location on the strip and the rooms are pretty nice

Excaliber is like 50 a night during the week. Like goat said your hotel isnt suppose to be super luxuorious unless your trying to get laid. You dont want to say your staying at the flamingo excal tropicana or circus. You wanna be at the aria venetian or luxor.

Have been to vegas for my 1st time earlier this year...stayed at strat and will not be going back there. Someone earlier in this thread said its in a ghetto neighborhood and that is true. Also its way too far away from the action. Going to vegas this next week and still trying to decide whats the cheapest between harrahs,bills,ballys and hooters...trying to get a room under 45 bucks a night

The Rio - Nice hotel... Take shuttle To Harrah's... you can't beat it. $49 weekdays. Best hotel out there for the price.

my friend stayed at Circus Circus and I went up to his room. Nothing special especially for Vegas standards but if you need a cheap place to sleep and you don't plan to spend much time in your room it will work. It's like you have to worry about your safety or anything.

I played roulette in the casino and lost my money real quick.
