#3I bought a sony 3d tv a year ago, and i think I only watched ESPN 3D when Miami Heat were in the playoffs. Other than that, rarely watched movies in 3d bc it made my eyes hurt. I wouldn't reccommend it unless you get an excellent deal.Comment -

#7I got the 52 inch samsung 3D, haven't used it, probably won't. I had a choice of either 2 free pair of 3D glasses or something else, went with the something else but I can't remember what the hell it was.Comment -

#11It's a novelty in my opinion. I tried one out in HH Gregg and it was cool, but not like I would watch regular tv in 3d. Good for a movie every once in a while.Comment -

#13Bought one Sunday.
60" Samsung.
Haven't watched regular TV on the 3D, don't even know if its available. Wasn't looking to buy a 3D, was just going to buy an LED.
But after watching them all in the store, the Plasma 3D looked like a better tv than the LEDs. The guy at the store was telling me that in the fast paced movies that the LED would be a touch slower than the Plasma due to the refresh rate (who knows if it's noticeable or not on sports) but it was definitely noticeable during the transformer movie they had on. The colors in general were better on the LED, but not a "huge" difference to me, and like the guy said "once you get it home and stop staring at all the different screens here, you'll be more than happy with your purchase, whatever you decide on"
Decent tv. Fits my needs fine, watch some sports, maybe throw on a blu ray when no sports are on (which look very good) (haven't tried a 3D movie yet, but they gave me 2 free pair of glasses with the tv)
But like someone else said, the 3D technology just isn't there yet.Comment -

#14Yea got a 55" Sony. Good buy if you like 3d stuff, tons of movies out there in 3d now and they are pretty much releasing all new movies in 3d as well. Sports in 3d are ptetty awesome and free on espn 3d. Oh and ps3 supports 3d as well if you are into gaming.Comment -

#16I have a 55" sony too. Its fun to show off, and it's pretty cool for video games... but I can't handle the glasses for more than an hour or so. It def has a "cool" factor though. I'm watching a lot more 3D movies now that I have a mac mini running the home theater system. The mac allows me to download everything I need instead of buying movies at $30 a pop. I still haven't found a service that lets you rent 3D Blu-Rays.
**edit** Football looks incredible. Just sucks that you can't find many games on 3D.Comment -

#20Wait for the glasses-free stuff to get more prevalent. Vizio has one or two but pretty soon it'll be the only thing on the market. The active shutter glasses are bad for your eyes, and the movie theater style ones are technology from 10 years ago.
Glasses-free 3D will be the only thing within the next 5 years or so.Comment -

#21I have the latest Samsung 3d and the glasses give u a headache after awhile. The only movies we watched
On it was Shrek and Megamind bc that's what came with them. It seems more of a novelty. In hindsight I should have gotten a run of the mill HD TV and not the 3d. IMO its not worth the price. Oh and btw DO NOT BUY FROM PAULSTV.COM. HORRIBLE EXPERIECE WITH THEM. STAY AWAY!!!!Comment -

#28a year later, I would say the tehnology has improved. we have a big LG 3D. Love watching the bowl games on it. Plus the Avengers movie was cool with all the 3D effects. Can't wait to see the BCS game on it.Comment -

#29i got rid of my 3d tv. anything under 50 is a waste. Football isnt good on it, basketball and the masters is where its at. Gave me occasional headaches, and really really bad headaches while playing ps3 games in 3dComment -

#33i got an lg one, i love it. its penetrating great to watch movies on, its amazing the technolgy seriously better 3d then what they have in the movies imo. will have to pay for the best quality one which imo is lg plasma. the only sports channel in 3d is espn 3d they only show certain events but its cool.
some of the pay channels have hd on demand programming too, like hbo has a lot of 3d movies you can just use. also on the lg, i got it comes with some links to watch 3d events, like different live events some magic show, illusions, circus.Comment -
