My sis is having open heart surgery
as I write this. Beautiful girl both physically and spiritually, just a nice person.
Suffers from Lupus for about the past 20 years, the treatment of steroids and some cancer drugs are dangerous. Long term use of steroids can cause internal organ failure. She needs two valve replacements.

We sometimes forget about our mortality don't we? We kind of put it on the back burner and don't think about it until something serious takes a whack at our daily routine. It is sad and frightening how quick this very temporary and very fragile existence can end. It allows you to think about what is really important in this life.

Thanks guys, she is one fighter even though she is slight in size. She was terrified about this procedure, who wouldn't be. I tried to reassure her and looked up stats on these operations believe it or not they are very common and have a high rate of success. Still, open heart surgery is one scary term.

              I appreciate it guys.

removing breathing tubes, looks very sick but doctor thinks everything is fine. She will be well and able to breathe again.

thanks guys, it is amazing how much comfort kind words are especially when they come from people you don't even know, human beings are basically good I believe with some very few exceptions.

                              be well

                                    Guys and Gals

One last update, how about this? Sis was able to walk from her bed to a chair today. This is less than 24 hours after surgery. Tubes are out, yes she is very weak something to be expected. She is unable to judge whether she can breathe better because of the fresh wound but that was the whole point of this operation to get her heart back to normal so she would be able to breathe properly again. I am excited so excuse the run on and everything else.

I appreciate your concern very much. Well we all go through this in life don't we. As you age you will watch your parents get ill and pass, sometimes we lose siblings and even children that is the very sad part of this life. I have a buddy who lost a son, both he and his wife will never be right again. You can see it in their eyes every time you talk to them, even though they seldom mention it. They live with the black dog of despair and depression. It is sad.

                                    Thanks again friends.
