AT&T finally caught onto people making money off their Iphones
I wanted to post this last week since i did it the previous 2 years. Wont be doing it this year because of increase to ETF.
AT&T Increases There ETF's( Early Termination fee) on Iphones from $150 to $325. This is done to increase there profit on the iphone power sellers.

Basically in the past you get a family plan with AT&T with 5 lines. You buy 5 Iphone 4s for $200 each and sale each of them on ebay for $800+. You then proceed to cancell your contract and pay the early termination fee and you used to be able to profit about $400 per phone after you paid ebay fees, paypal fees, Total cost of buying, sales tax, and 1st months payment. With this ETF increase its almsot not worth it anymore unless you can get your hands on 50 phones.

    Under New Contracts Plans

Family Plan 700 minutes, 5 lines, 5 Data Plans
$174.96 for first month(cancel contract there after)
    5 Activation fees
    $180
    Cost for 5 Iphone 4S
    $1251.80
Cost for Early Termination fee on 5 lines
    $1575

    Total Cost to you
    $3180

Average Phone sales for $900 on ebay
    Total Gross Revenue
    $4500

Less 9% for ebay + Paypal

    Take Home
    $4095

    Profit
    $915( 28.7% gain in 1 month)

Last year you would have profited a additional $169 per phones( increased ETF)

for a Profit of $1760( 55.5% gain in 1 month)

    FUK YOU AT&T

My buddy made me aware of this when the 3g first came out so i did it with the 3gs and the 4. With so much competition this time around it scares me that youll even be able to sale the phones for $600 each just to break even. My buddy usually sales about 100 of these a year or more.

I have a few other similar hustles but it seems these corporations are cutting out all the profits

I did this with PS3's when they first came out.

Got 5 mainly by pre-ordering and waiting in line and made close to 1k off each one.

TP id say the greatest hustle is simply selling your old Iphone to make enough to buy the new one and pocket $200. Iphone 4 sales for $350-450 avg still

I'm sorry but if people pay $4500 a year for cell phone service they should be put to death period. I don't care if the iphone makes coffee or makes you high.

When the iphone 4 first came out and had the antenna problems and everything else, I decided to sell it without even opening it. Stuck it on ebay and sold it for around $800 and that was a week or two after they had been released. The people who did it quicker were killing it.

i remeber i bought 2 refurb iphones off the at&t website last year for 150 each, then i told em someone stole em outta my car before i even activated em...i sold em on craigslist for 700 apiece in like 2 hours..at&t was trying to make me pay em the 325 per line but after a bunch of back and forth bitching they waived it!..i admit it was a scumbag move on my part but the gambling made me do it!

Add up the cost of the extra charges from contracts and you will see that a unlocked phone with an independent carrier is a cheaper way to go...
