LOL. Some people are going to be pissed off very soon - probably stop watching. They wrote the guy off because the producer of the 1st season, started another show, and as a result is using the soon to be dead guy as his star of a new series...

The second half to this season has gotten a lot better.

Doubt it. I'm pretty sure it's going to be The Governor. They just recently cast for that character and I'm willing to bet he's the one running that group. I'd even put money on it. I don't think Merle is coming back, like the guy with the son who saved Rick ep 1. Both are probably gone from the show.

They are going more far away from the storyline of the comics, with the death of Dale.

I believe they'll also keep Shane alive, as he is one of the strongest characters, who keeps the show going...

Am I the one who disliked this episode? NOT because the killing of Shane (we knew it will happen, just I thought in s3)....because this episode was really slow.
The only fun part for me was how the "Carl killing the zombie Shane" was different - and somehow the same - as in the comics.

Shane was a pos. I was glad to see him beaten senseless a few episodes ago.

so I just got around to watching the finale, I thought it was pretty good. lots of action that had been missing before. I didn't read any of the books, so wtf is up with the bitch that keeps zombies on a leash? Was that a prison they showed just over the hill from our groups camp? it should be fortified well, but what about all the child molesters and gang bangers that were behind the wall when the shit hit the fan? an army of bad guys meets the small town sherrif and his whore wife?
I'm still pulling for Merle to come back, too good of a storyline not too.
