Not including sports fights with helmuts and pads. A fight to me is when more than 3 punches were thrown (except one time, there was 1 punch but I'll call it a fight). Hard to count; certainly less than 100 but definitely more than 60. Was a little punk rocker in the early 80's. Got in a lot of fights. Gotten my ass WHOOPED more than a few times (got knocked out in a single punch one time, never been hit harder in my life). One on one I'd say I won almost 70% of them. 2 on 1 (me being the one) I've only won 1 out 6 (but I could run pretty fast so if I needed I could get away before taking a total pounding). Haven't been in a fight for about 10 or 11 years (currently mid 40's) and wouldn't want to. Although I did challenge a coach of a 15 y.o. Legion team recently after his team plunked my kid three times in a row (these are 15 yo high level players, they throw hard, low 70's, and are relatively accurate) but he refrained. Funny thing, my kid didn't get hit again in the other games we played them after that.

More than 10. I got jumped by a bunch of older kids when I was 14 for not showing them respect. Took time but eventually got each of them back with interest. I liked when kids would shoot you a fair one and not go with the guns and blades. Can't do that in these times where I grew up. Last fight I was in was a few years back at Tao. Guy got a little too loud and pushy near my table. Tried being polite. He called me ****** and picked up a Heiniken bottle. Before he could swing it he caught a fist to the throat and I stomped him until security broke it up and bounced his head off a few walls while escorting him out. I've got too much to lose by fighting now, but you never know. Also, everyone and their mother has a gun so you have to be smart. Guns give weak people courage they don't normally have and some get so scared they shoot without thinking.

Way more than 10, too many too count, and virtually all when I was younger and at school though - I have barely thrown a punch in the last 10-11 years, and those punches I have thrown have barely connected and were more "shots accross the bow" that never led to anything in the end.

Had a very short fuse when I was a nipper and the smallest thing would set me off into a rage - of course my mates were the ones who used to wind me up and watch me go !

Then moved away to school when I was 11 so was the outsider for a year or two as I didnt know anyone - ended up being bullied a bit there and it was only when I started fighting back properly that I was accepted and got any respect. Of course, once I was accepted then I am sad to say that I ended up joining in the bullying of other new kids down the line and remember being goaded into starting fights with at least 2 different newbies in the following years (not my proudest moments!)

My most spectacular fight was also one of my last fights and happened in my final year away at school - was outside a takeaway joint after a few beers and this guy started on a couple of my mates and slapped them accross the face before walking off. I asked one of them (who is not a fighter) what happened and he just shouted out that the guy was a "Fing W**ker" of course the guy heard this and came back but didnt even look at my mate and thought it was me so got in my face.

I denyed calling him a w**ker (though didnt put my mate in it by saying it was him) and he slapped me 3 times round the face double handedly (like clapping). I took a step back, thought "who the hell does this guy think he is" and stepped forward putting a little bit more power into the punch that I was swinging - he went down like a sack of crap and I looked up and saw about 6 of his mates flying towards me.

Needless to say I was screwed - long story short I took a bit of a beating and ended up with a badly swollen eye, a broken jaw and a number of scrapes and bruises from where they were kicking me while I was down, luckily they were only aiming kicks at my head which I was protecting with my arms, had one of them thought about it and kicked me in the body then most likely my guard would have come down and my head would have been open - luckily it got stopped before that happened.

In the meantime 3 of my so-called mates had disappeared and the only one who was trying to help me was being held back by a couple of bouncers from the club next door. It later turned out that the guy I hit was pretty notorious round there and relied on his reputation to start fights with people knowing they would never fight back becuase of his reputation...I of course didnt know who the hell he was or care about his rep anyway.

Looking back I still class that fight as a fight that I won, even though I was the one in hospital and eating my meals through a straw for the next 6 weeks - due to that fact that while it was 1 on 1 I was left standing and he was was on his ass on the floor - it was only when his mates joined in that I got hammered.

That was nearly 12 years ago now and since then I have only thrown maybe 2 or 3 punches at most and have learned to control my temper - in fact these days I am almost too far the other way, and usually playing the peacemaker when my mates are in the process of getting into trouble !

Kind of a pacifist, but have been know to throw an occasional haymaker and knock a fool out.. If the guy is bigger, I act big get in his face, and head butt first, then knee him in the balls, with him crunching over and momentarily blinded by tears, knees to the face finish off whats left... although this has backfired.
