Who has a job without any college degree?
It's a persuasive question to be answered guys. No trolling here.

I'm in school and I'm sitting next to a guy in his late 30's and he is asking me to help him study. So then I meet up with him and I then ask him why he is in Junior College at his age as I am curious about why some older people decide to go to a 2 year college and then transfer over to a 4 year college. The guy says that he just lost his job and that his neighbor has a daughter who just turned 21 and works as an HR for a tempt agency. In other words, she is a recruiter and helps degens find tempt to hire jobs. She never got a degree at a 2 year college. Only went to junior college to take a few elective classes that have nothing to do with being in the HR field. So the guy I'm studying with tells me if society is now picking up young kids off the streets with no degrees and no experience and find jobs that require degrees and experience.

I'm fascinated about this, so anyone have job that required(s) degree and experience but you ended up getting the job? By the way, if you wanna post your job title, that would be great. Anyways, hope to hear from you guys because I have always felt that some people out there do get lucky.

I graduated from college in my late 20's. When I graduated, there was a govenrment program for older people to go to college for free, however, some of these people were in their 50's. I feel bad for these old people, but WTF, c'mon, 50?

Have an Associates Degree...But decided to work instead of go to more school. Had a good job since High School.

Now me and my dad have a business doing the same thing. Can't ask for anything more.

But I think I just lucked out and that's why I'm one of those guys that thinks college is overrated unless you're going to be a doctor.

Am in a similar situation to ngates actually - except I didnt go to University because I didnt think it would be worthwhile as I couldnt think of a course that I thought would both keep my interest for a few years, and actually be worthwhile to me since I had no intentions of being a Doctor/Lawyer etc.

In the end I decided to get a job answering phones while also working the odd day for my father's business on my days off etc with the intention of saving some money and going off travelling.

Zoom forward 11 years and I am still working for the same company, though in a more senior position and in a different department. I do count myself pretty lucky as got a few breaks along the way as various people more senior than me at the time came and went, but I managed to show that I worked hard enough and could be relied upon enough that when another senior position opened up I didnt even need to apply as they offered the job to me.

Since then, I am still in the job while at the same time getting more involved in my fathers business on the side try to learn the ropes and make sure that I will be ready to take over when he retires in a few years...

Nobody in Vegas cares that you have a degree. It's all about what you can do for them. It's great.

Attorney. Seven years of schooling after HS. Could hypothetically do my job without a JD in my state but its very, very difficult and very rare.

Lots of people are climbing up without degrees especially in tech areas. You don't need to have an English degree to work your way into a six figure writing/blogging job if you have talent. A lot of programmers and marketers have everything they need online to compete. IMO it all depends on the field.

I think there are different reasons to go to school. In some schools its opportunity to meet like-minded people and network. For people who know what they want to do, sometimes it just requires that degree. These days there are more people not going to college until they know what the want to do. With the mid class fallout it's not something you do as a right of passage for a social experience anymore. Now it's an investment where more people are gauging the potential return. You can't blame parents for saying no or for kids holding off on getting that loan. My kid would have to have experience in a field and know what it's like before going to school for it. With our parents, it was "you are going to college".

I got a bachelors in sociology from Iowa, never used it once. I guess I went to school for the experience. Glad I went.

I know a high school drop out who started his own business cleaning hoods above stoves in restaurants. Dude makes a lot more money then you'd think.

I work with a couple people who have their bachelors and the job title has nothing to do with the work they have.

Im taking college classes very lightly right now because I no I can get through my life with out a degree if I follow the path that I need to. College is overrated. Sure I like to meet new people but in are day and age you dont need college if you are smart enough to figure out what you need to do in life.

People in todays world and society have extremely narrow minds.

I got called a dumbass by some fking arab tool because I said college is overrated. Then I explained my oppinion and he shut up. Some people just arnt built for school and their is nothing wrong with that.

College has a lot of wasteful classes they require you to take and a handful of usefull classes

I have had multiple jobs since graduating h.s. 03', no college degree. Right now I work full time as a Limo driver. Including tips I make close to 50 K a yr. Now I'm well aware im not going to become rich doing this but as of now it is efficient enough to support myself considering I live on my own by myself at 26. No wife or kids at the moment. Praise the good lord for every second

Bottom line is it all depends what you want to do, some fields require a degree some don't.....Who you know and if you got some cash to start something is the key.... I have an MA, BA, don't need either for what I do now but did in my previous field....

That's usually an urban legend, but who knows. I wish I could bone some milf for that kind of job. I'd hit the boss every weekend.
