Scare tactics collection companies do all kinds of shady shit. These ass clowns call next door for me my friends parents. I bought a tv from Conns and I was a day late and they called me on the hr every hr. After seeing how they do business I told myself they won't see a dime from me. They sent a black man to my door at 7 am and he said he was there for a voultary repo of the tv. I stood at the door with my 9 mm in my shorts and told him he came to the wrong house the only way that tv leaves my house is in trash bags. They never sent anyone again.

I may or may not hypothetically be an attorney in real life. This is not legal advice. But they can probably do what they say, and probably will. So if that is more appealing to you than paying $150 a month to not be harassed all the time, then knock yourself out.

They are saying in your first letter either take this deal or we will file suit against you. If you don't agree, or you don't call them to see if there's some other way they can work it out, they are saying they will file suit. If they do that (and they probably will), and you don't respond (you probably won't, don't lie), they can take a default (and then a default judgment) against you. May take them 3 months but they can get to a point very quickly where they have a document endorsed by the Court saying you owe them XYZ dollars with binding legal effect at some percentage interest per annum (set at 10 percent in California).

Just take the $150. Yes, it sucks that you have to pay $150/month, but don't act like you didn't spend this money you owe and promised to pay back. Keep your word man.

Not yet, he's saying on Oct. 13 he will go to the court and start the process whether you're on board or not. Whether or not that actually happens, who knows, but that's what the client is representing it is willing to do.

No cc company would raise interest that much over 1 payment being 1 day late. You were either late several times prior to that or you are full of shit and KFC. Any rational thinking adult would have gotten on the phone with cc company and gotten the interest rate brought back down to the original rate. Worst case scenario, you would be told your account is closed and balance will accrue regular interest until it is paid in full.

I still can't figure out how any bank would give an unemployed, possibly retarded, stay at home son credit. I guess they kind of do deserved to get screwed.

You are absolutely right. But----if you are responsible with a CC, odds are you will be problem/drama free.

I have had the same AmEx card since I graduated college in 1994, my Chase card has been with me since 1995. No problems, no drama.

TT You will not have another CC that has higher then a 300 dollar limit until you take care of this. If they get a judgement against you, that doesnt go away i dont think.
