Plenty of white people abusing welfare as well, King has a point there. And Kerry has a point there are plenty of minorities abusing it. And more people collecting it now than ever before. The government has just continuously made it easier for the lowest class of each race to come and collect their free check while the rest of us pay our taxes so they can eat. And they've also continually expanded the amount of people that qualify. The problem isn't whites, or blacks or mexicans. It's a system problem. We are running an unsustainable welfare system. No incentive for anyone to get a job anymore because in some cases they'll actually make less than their unemployment checks.

BTW unemployment was originally intended for 26 weeks (basically 6 months of doing nothing and then you're on your own), its currently been extended to a mind boggling 99 weeks by Congress and they are trying to extend that # 20 more weeks, unfukinreal. Its obvious they could go into any McDs and get a 10 an hour job and make 50 bucks extra a week but who the **** would work 40 hours at McDs for 50 bucks?

When you throw in food stamps, sec 8 housing etc they are making MORE to NOT work than they would to work and support themselves. Is it any wonder there has been a 74% increase in food stamp recipients in less than 4 years, maintaining that rate the entire country will be on food stamps within a decade

Bet it's sad. My mom recently got laid off. She worked the front desk at a doctors clinic and worked for their for over 10 years. Well I guess times were tough and they had to let her go. I understood, it's a business decision. Well, shes having trouble finding another job because of her age so we tell her to go apply for unemployment. I swear to you bet, her unemployment check is $70 less than she was making while working 40 hours a week there. It's sick.

Now she's in a predicament. She's turning in applications at all sorts of places and most of the places offering her jobs aren't even offering her as much as her unemployment check. Anyways, it's a tough situation to be in, especially if you have an ounce of pride but common sense tells me that she is not going to work 40 hours/week + pay gas to get to a job when she can make more sitting at home and not doing a damn thing. I think she qualified for up to 99 weeks of this. And she's just one person. Millions of people are doing this and abusing the system. She's worked her whole life and two jobs a majority of the time so I don't feel bad that she gets a bit of a break now but I see just how broke this system is.

Add the fact that the EIC credit will give him prolly 1200 back at tax time and the poorest 40 hour individual in the entire ******* country has to live on 1400 a month

So of course, i can't let this one go by without saying something, so i say "your welcome" then he says "for what" and i say "for going to work 5 days a week so you can get a bridge card and buy crab legs with it", so he says "if you got a problem i'll be waiting in the parking lot for you" so i say ok be there in 3 minutes, and i head on out, but he was driving away with his $150 in crab legs.

there was talk of reform to the system, but instead they made it less embarrassing for these dead beats to buy food with the food stamp system by doing away with the colored bills and just giving them a debit/CC looking thing to make it look like a 'normal' transaction. So the people who might not have wanted to get them because they would be embarrassed using them now have no excuse not to.

obviously some people need them, so they serve a small purpose. But women having kids just to get more out of the system, or dead beats that dont want to work, or any other scam that people use to get them should be held accountable.

A scummy middle aged guy came up to me the other day at the food store and wanted to sell me his food stamps (.50 on the dollar). I asked him why and how, becaz of the card.

He said he would walk around the store with me- than when I check out he would swipe the card. Also straight out told me he could not buy booze and smokes with the card and needed cash.

As tempted as I was for this deal. I told him to take a hike!

As least he was honest about what he wanted the $ for, but I couldn't see myself walking around the store with this tool next to me. Plus it was just plain Wrong.

Providing food stamps and welfare isn't the responsibility of taxpayers. It is up to an individual's family, friends, and the tax-exempt charities and churches. They were made tax-exempt for this reason not to build multimillion dollar superstructures. Otherwise let social Darwinism work its course and clean up America.
