When a US gas station or party store hands me a Canadian quarter now... I just smile =) it's worth more.

I remember when my boyz and I use to hang out in Canada when we were 19. I think for 100 US Dollars we would get 142 Canadian Dollars in return?!?!?! It was something like that... man... Canadian Chicks were all over us... thought we were all high rollers and stuff! LOL Those were the days. Now Obama Fu#$ed us all!

Id never do that. Years ago in Dallas, someone refused my canadian penny, I had to get a US penny from my friend who was at the other end of the bus station.

No, a quarter is a quarter. I was in Vegas last year and accidentally used a Canadian dime to pay for something and the cashier didn't take it, but in Canada if you get an American quarter nobody says "no i don't want it", or won't accept it.

I respect what you say. Trust me. Bush made wrong moves too... but Obama promised us.. "It's Time For A Change." Ok... a change in what??? It's worse than it ever was.

Take it to a higher level. The Canadians have a $1 coin ( called a Loonie) that they actually use ( since the smallest paper bill is $5). USA has the same EXACT coin in a mettalurgical (sp) analysis.....The dead president dollars, a billion of them in storage !

Now if the CAD became worth 2 USD, these American slugs would clog up any Canadian vending machines...
stuff like subways, buses, car washes, any vending machine. ...

No big deal now since they are within 5% of each other.

That's because the USD has historically been worth more than a CAD, the Canadian has never been worth like 20% more than US, but the USD has usually been worth more than the CAD, now things are different.

I'd not complain about a Canadian coin worth maybe 80% at the time in the 80's for example, an odd Canadian coin once in awhile would spend fine, nobody would really even look at something smaller than a quarter.

I'm Sure Canucks would easily accept US coins when they were worth 20 % more....no the US coins can potentially become the bad money....esp. the USA dollar slug....

Happens to me all the time at Tim Hortons. Fukkin annoying 'cause those yankee quarters don't work in parking meters and newspaper boxes.

I live 20 mins from Canada and stores wont take Canadian coins around here. They take bills but no coins, no looneys or twooneys. But when I go to Vancouver no one cares what money I hand them they just rape me on the exchange rate.

In the early 2000s (2002-04), I used to go to the Canadian casinos and get $1.55 for my $1 USD. I always felt like it gave me a bigger bankroll, until I cashed in of course.
