Las Vegas recommended Hotels for Sports Wagering?

The LV Hilton or Ceasars will usually take big action without blinking. I personally play a lot of poker and bet sports, plus I like cheaper rooms off the strip, so I go to The Orleans a lot. I'm a small sports player, however.

The LV Hilton Sportsbook/Racebook looks like Mission Control at NASA -- it is amazing.

If you don't need to be on the strip, the Coast Casinos (Orleans or Gold Coast would be good choices) run the best sports books in the city. They take bigger bets than the strip casinos and will be much cheaper to stay at.

I'm not a fan of the Station Casinos, as they recently backed me off, but they also have high-ish limits and low-priced rooms. They don't want winners long term, but you'll have no troubles there for a trip.

If you're betting sides, you won't have any problem betting $1000, even downtown (good room deals there, too).

There are plenty of cheap hotels with a Leroy's book in them (Sahara and Tropicana among many others). Leroy's take $3k bets on sides, but are extremely low on the "sportsbook experience" scale. Usually one or two guys, a chalk board, and several old TVs. They are very high on the "no hassles" scale. You won't even be asked to present an I.D. for limit bets.

I agree that LV Hilton is the best, though I've never been to a Coast sportsbook. You'd be surprised at how little variety in wagering options the MGM and Harrah's casinos have. Though I saw someone collecting on a 20k college basketball bet at the MGM Grand last time I was Vegas, and it didn't seem like a huge deal.

I've stayed at the LV Hilton and didn't like it. It seems overpriced, particularly at convention times. People will disagree with me on that though. I've always liked to rent a car in Vegas. I'd probably just stay on the strip and then drive to the Hilton (or elsewhere) to place bets. That would probably be an unusual thing to do though. But you could odds shop online and then drive to the appropriate book.

Harrah's is a joke. If they were an SBR-rated sportsbook, I'd give them a D+ (while any other book in Vegas would be at LEAST a B). If you have a brain and win, you'll likely get paid, but there might be a lot of bullshit involved.

Yeah ! "Do you have a Rewards card?" Harrah's blew it big time with me when they asked that question, then refused a bet. Its my right to refuse and yes I actually do have a rewards card. They wanted to track my action for the bottom line, not to give me any comps. I know better. Plus Harrah's controls the policies of numerous properties in Vegas. There are much better places to place a wager.

Stay away from Bally's and Hooters (former Sam Remo)...........biggest waste of time ever.....I've never been to Hilton, but will kept in mind next trip....I recently got back from the MGM where they took my large wagers without any problems.

I was in Vegas from 4-13 June. Harrahs properties had 15 cent MLB, MGM properties had 20 cent MLB, Planet Hollywood 15 cent lines, Venetian 15 cent, and the Wynn had 10 cent lines at -140 and lower.

I did not get up to the Hilton.

Planet Hollywood had the best selection of props for the strip properties I visited.

Best places to sit and watch the games:

Planet Hollywood
Mandalay Bay
Caesars
Club 40/40 - which is not a book, but a trendy new sports bar in Palazzo, between Venetian and Wynn.

The problem I have with the Coast casinos is that they don't offer 5 inning lines for baseball. The Hilton, Leroys, or South Point (24 hour book btw) are the best books in Vegas. I really don't like watching games at any of them, however. The Hilton has old projection TVs and often can't show all of the games in progress on a busy sports day because there aren't enough sets. Leroys books are tiny. They don't have comfortable seating or enough TV sets. South Point's sets (other than the big screen) are too small to clearly watch all the games in progress. I usually place my wagers at the Leroys in Hooters or Tropicana and watch the games at the MGM book. Hooters is actually really cheap for rooms and they are actually pretty nice. If you play poker there you can get poker rates often as low as $40 a night.

Another good place to watch games is ESPN Sportszone in NY NY. The setup with the televisions there is outstanding. The food is overpriced but not bad.

Bellagio hands down. I haven't been to Vegas in about seven years but my friends and I checked out about every sportsbook on the strip over a period of years and the Bellagio sportsbook beat them all.

There were many reasons, it had the best atmosphere, the most interesting and friendly sports bettors. It was the most comfortable, nice leather seats with plenty of space for all. Free drinks, you just need to tip and it was the only sportsbook we could find that had NBA league pass and they showed every NBA game on the various screens.

I still remember MANY gamblers I met at that place at various times and they all gave me extremely good insight into sports betting. You'll hear things there that you won't hear anywhere else, things that no one here talks about. My friends and I checked out every sportsbook on the strip and after a few times we just headed straight to Belagio to bet on and watch the games. We stayed in tons of different hotels but we always went to Belagio for sportsbetting.

Hilton is by far the best place to bet when it comes to comps (2% on action) and options as to half time, prop bets, etc. They will take your bets versus downtown which has 1,000 limits.
I thought they were changing names at the end of the year?
You can get a cheap room -look at hilton.com- and play the Las Vegas Country Club across the street.
You can take the monorail to the strip for like $7 unlimited for 24 hour period. It is a little slow but cheaper than cabs. You can also cab it downtown from there and it is like 15-20 each way. Don't waste your time and go to the Pawn Shop. The guys are never there and it is crowded.

In my opinion the wynn has an excellent sportsbook, and good rewards program, they take just about everything, including CAL EXPO in sacto, the only one to do it.

Hilton now has a non-smoking room with a dozen HD tv's and nice chairs.

When I lived in Vegas I played at just about every casino on and off the strip.

Here are my 5 favorite sports books (on and off the strip)

1. The Hard Rock (Took me time to get warmed up to the place, but they have done a good job adding new interactive live betting as well as comfortable seating. The girls are hot as well).

2. The Wynn (Athough it is a pricey hotel, their sports book does not have an uppity feel. For race fans, they have a core of locals that know their horses. Drink tickets are easy to get as well)

3. Red Rock Casino (Off the strip, but the sportsbook is large and the comps they offer for sports and horses are good. Drink tickets are easy to get and they offer all games)

4. Venetian (underrated sports book. They take all action and they have high limits. Drink tickets are easy to get. Only drawback is during big events, seating is at a premium)

5. South Point (Another off the strip property but I like how they separate the race book from the sports book. Large and plenty of televisions)
