Hard to know with 10k. I would look at a lot of options. Maybe save up till you have more to open the bar?

As you already stated, $10k isn't enough to open a bar and to be honest its no where in the ballpark; $10k won't even cover your liquor license.

As far as investments with $10k I would say you are better off just trading in the sports market... even though its not a huge amount, its still plenty enough to spread around a few shops and trade off to get automatic money daily, it will add up and you will have a nice chunk each month.

Good thread, I want to start my own business too. Have saved $8000.00 so far. You will need more than 10k for a bar is my guess, but it's a good idea. I'm thinking of buying stocks with my money or invest it somewhere. Dont work for the money, make the money work for you

Are you young Battle, in your 20s?

If so you should get your credit built up real good and then you can take your $20k (say you doubled your original $10k in the next year) and get a business loan for your new business. I have no clue what a bar cost, but I do know liquor license sometimes get up to $25k, and if I had to guess... I would say you would need at least $100k to start it up (not all capital but with loans and such). GL
