we are lucky to have the national guys we do. the texas rangers announcers are really, really bad as well as the homerism of the white sox makes them unwatchable. if you are going to show them on wgn national wide get new announcers. i have seen some games on nba tv where they show the local guys. the boston guys are pretty bad.

conversely the astros guys are some the best in sports. they are funny and hold the down time of baseball really well. at least once during a telecast they spend a good 3 or 4 minutes commenting on comedic going ons in the stands.

also joe buck irks me a lot sometimes too, like when randy moss pretended to moon the packers crowd after he scored a touchdown, joe buck goes on a tirade like its the worst thing an athlete has ever done.... even though the celebration was actually kind of clever because it referenced the old tradition of packers fans mooning the vikings bus (or plane or something...

) as they went home

Joe Buck is sarcastic and witty and him and Aikman make an excellent NFL announcing team IMO.

The guy I least want to be announcing a game I'm watching, but not necessarily the worst guy, is Greg Gumble. Competant but bland in what he says, only Dierdorf can save those broadcasts from being total yawners.
