Guys hugging/kissing guys when they greet each other?

What do you guys think of this?, in America guys seem to hug each other a lot when they meet to greet each other, sometimes kiss on cheek.

Also in a poker tournament when a guy gets knocked out I see he tends get hugged lol. Especially by John Gale

What are your rules?

For me a kiss is a no no, I guess hugging is OK sometimes.

I don't think guys kiss a lot in America, that is more European.

We'll I'm from Europe (Ireland) and I can tell you, we don't hug and kiss each other when greeting. A handshake is it.

It's a culture thing...it's cool in the Middle Eastern countries etc...but in the US doing the cheek thing pegs the gay scale

Italians will give a hug/kiss on cheek if it's a close friend/family member. Everyone else gets a handshake. =)

I think the one armed hug is good to go unless it has been a long time or a funeral or some big event. However if guys want to hug go for it, to each his own.

The only ones who think a hug between men is gay are the homophobes...and we know about most homophobes.

Move to the Middle East, where that practice is common place. As it is part of their culture. Especially by Armenians.

My only wish for my fellow SBR posters is to start to read more books, and learn about cultures other than their own.
