Sj you shouldn't be in this thread talking about yourself or defending yourself. Just do what you are gonna do next season and let that stand for itself.

Sweetjones was successful and i give him credit for that but he manipulated his record to give an inaccurate description of how well he was doing. It was sickening how much he touted himself with the 60% thread and the "Curtain Call" thread. Obviously we all knew it was coming but the shame of it is how he will be advising his clients to play -3.5 (-140) odds.

I played less than 10 games all year of -140+ out of over 200 plays. I mainly did it in the playoffs as the lines are much sharper and I think buying points is a good stratedgy on certain lines. I ended up turning two losses into winners doing it in the playoffs so it was well worth it.

I realize SBR is a for profit business, but don't let the posters get scammed of their money. What I used is just a very fukkin basic chart. I think on 2p2 I saw someone created a program where you could get diagrams, confidence intervals, etc etc... Mine took a whole 1minute to create (1 pick, 60% winrate = 14.55% ROI, 16% and 8% risked...repeated 523 times) but it still serves its purpose. Here is an article on about.com. I hate to use something from Fezzik, but he reiterates the point: While some bettors may scoff at the 56% figure used in as an example earlier, professional bettors will be the first to tell you there’s nothing wrong with that percentage at all. Such a percentage will lead to a nice profit over time. Many bettors assume they are going to achieve the magical figure of 60% winners, if not higher, when heading into a new season. While such a percentage may be achieved over a short period of time, it’s nearly impossible to maintain over a long stretch. Professional bettor Steve Fezzik describes the 60% fallacy in Larry Grossman’s book, You Can Bet on It Fezzik states if you begin with a $1,000 bankroll and wager 10% of your money on one game a day, while laying -110 odds, while maintaining a 60% winning ratio, after 2,000 wagers your initial $1,000 would be a cool $550 billion. Yes, billion. Something to remember the next time you see a sports tout claiming to hit 65% over the last 10 years.
what if they mistalkenly not count some losing plays?

I think everyone here saw this coming.
Especially once we saw the requests for support for an espn appearance and then the "curtain call" thread it was inevitable this would be the next announcement.
GL sweetjones but imo the tout thing is kind of scummy and I would never send anyone a dollar to make my picks for me........
Actually I take that back, as soon as a tout wants to guarantee winnings and will cover my losses I'll be the first to sign up.

don't know why SBR isn't allowing the link, do this if you want to see it.

Just do SBR search, type in: Opie Picture and it will be the first thread and first post in that thread, titled Look who I found at the Mavs game.

No worries. I saw the picture with Opie. SJ is about 5'5 and 150 lbs. and especially standing next to Opie who is a big dude, SJ looks tiny.

This just confirms SJ is a fukkin dumb as he looks, I agree with RR the guy is not that impressive and will go down in flames.
Of course it's gonna come crashing down but now it's only gonna affect the dumb fcks who actually pay for the plays. I'd like to think I'd feel bad for those poor fools, but it'll be their own stupidity that does them in.

I mainly did it in the playoffs as the lines are much sharper and I think buying points is a good stratedgy on certain lines. I ended up turning two losses into winners doing it in the playoffs so it was well worth it.
Right, but how about -120 plays? -130?

Cocknocker and SexyMit split up last year also and are running their own ships. Maybe we need a "Where are they now?" thread for ex-SBR posters gone tout?

solobass is doing quite fine living in las vegas. shoebox is doing quite well for himself and travels a lot. last year i hosted my own handicapping seminar here in vegas and that was fun. i look forward to seeing you guys this year at the SBR convention and i suggest checking out the remodeled plaza, now the best spot on fremont street.
