Just burned a book

Funny thing is some people liked it, according to the Wikipedia article.

I burned it because it needed to be destroyed. No way I would donate it to a library. I don't want to be the cause of foisting that travesty onto others.

yisman burning is an inefficient use for the book. Give them to your enemy so that they might absorb its essence and foster your hate for them even more.

I also have a few books I dislike: The Road by Cormach McCarthy is the first off the top of my head and pretty much everything hawked by spiritualist huckster Oprah.

when we get a fire going in the backyard, i'll burn just about anything. next time i'll have to try a book, though seems like the smoke would be overwhelming.

pro tip: don't throw a golf ball into a fire and forget you did. it's getting ready to come back at you.

The book did create a ton of smoke. I didn't realize how bad it would be.

It was such an evil book, though, that it took about 25 tries to really get it going. I was using matches, and either they wouldn't light, or they'd blow out before I could get it against the book, or they'd go out right away when I tried to hold it against the book. Finally I got a good blaze going which burned the latter half of the book, and then I did the first half. It went ablaze and pages and ashes started flying. I tracked down all the pages and made sure they burned as well.

The basic idea of the book is fine; it just can't sustain more than a few pages of text, and yet the author wrote a novelette about the shit.
