San Clemente can be rough, but on a whole.................MOST of San Clemente is still very safe. As you obviously know......San Clemente is an old surf/beach town. Nobody has tried to change it to "Newport South" which is fine by me. Sure, the young surfers have become very territorial, but most are full of talk with no walk.
