I got it. Love it. Get the charging speaker dock too. I keep it next to my computer when I'm at home, listen to music, watch videos while on the computer, etc. Got the aquarium wallpaper, looks like a fishtank on my desk. And it is really really good for mobile wagering if you want that. Tabbed browsing is great. We have an ipad too, but the Xoom is soooooo much nicer.

If you are making due with what you have now, you probably don't need it. If you want it really bad give it two weeks and see how you feel then.

If you aren't really gonna use it much than is it worth buying a first generation Xoom? They will release a new one within a year and it'll make the current zoom look like yesterdays news. Its only worth it if your gonna use it fairly regularly imo

2 words for ya........net book. why buy an overpriced tablet when you can get twice the machine in a netbook. if all you are going to be doing is playing on the internet, $589 is not a good deal imho

If you could deal with a smaller screen,7 inches.....Samsung Galaxy tab might be the way to go.

I picked one up at Best Buy for $400.00...wifi/internet.....No contract.....Using Verizon as my carrier.

When I'm home it runs off wireless router wifi(no charge)....When I leave home it goes to 3G,so far $20.00 a month.

Just make sure you get the Wifi version. If you want internet for it just go out and get a hotspot from one of the carriers. That way, when you want to upgrade in a year or you decide you'd rather use your laptop, you're not stuck in a 2 year contract.
