I don't know what the percentage is, but that's not the point. New cars also don't have trash cans in them for all the fast food containers we accumulate, but that doesn't make it right for everyone to toss trash out the window whenever we feel like it. This is called acting like a responsible adult instead of a 3-year-old.

Next time you're finished with the cup from Starbucks or McDonald's or whichever of the 20 gazillion fast-food locations in this country you happen to frequent, save it; put it in the cup holder in the car (which EVERY new vehicle has).

You have two choices. 1) Leave a half-inch of whatever liquid you were drinking. When you're done with your cigarette, just drop it in; the liquid will safely put out the cigarette. Or, 2) go ahead and empty the cup. When you get home, take a 10-inch piece of aluminum foil, line the cup and put it back in the car. Now you can safely extinguish the butt before you dispose of it.

Here's the bottom line. If you want to smoke, I have no problem with you doing to your body whatever you want. That's your choice. But there is no legitimate excuse for failing to clean up after yourself.

The whole point of this thread is that I think smokers in general - yes a GENERALIZATON - are pretty disrespectful with their habit. I have a few friends who go out of their way to ask before they light up if it is okay ... but for the most part, people who smoke - light up and could care less if you like sucking in their death fumes.

Problem is he is a chain smoker, so I pretty much would be outside all day not performing my job. Next. I'm not a total pussy here, if we were talking like 3-4 cigarettes during the course of a day ... I could probably deal with that. I'm talking about a pack a day and there's maybe 1-2 hours of the day that I recall not smelling it coming from all-around me. This is also a small work environment where apparently the air that recirculates in the AC unit pushes the stench and ash around too. It's awesome. I sound like I work in a sweat shop.

This is untrue. at least for me. Because i decided to use the ash tray in the car, instead of throwing it outside... I burned my car down...

The cigarette is not what DIRECTLY caused the fire, but it was a part of the sequence of events...

I'm just biding my time. Plotting my escape. I cannot believe I've had to make it here this long. With all the jobs I have applied for over the past year ... to not be in a position to have not gotten offered anything substantial is the reason why I want to go out and start my own thing. Makes you feel pretty worthless when you have years upon years of experience in a field. Guess I should blame it all on my last job. Worked at a university, but they consolidated my position with another and that began this lovely spiral.

I work with one and since he owns the business, he's allowed to smoke inside because he can do whatever he wants. Come home every day with that stale stench on my clothes. Smell the shit choking me in the air all day. I fukking hate it. I'll probably get cancer before he does too. Fukk you smokers ... that is a generalization. I know some at least have some courtesy, but most don't and don't care. I'm gonna develop a bad habit of jerking off in public and start squirting on his clothes, see how he likes having something attached to his clothes every day.
